Job Description
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies from suppliers.
- Organize and maintain the storage areas, ensuring proper labeling, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems.
- Monitor stock levels and anticipate material requirements based on project schedules and operational needs.
- Coordinate with purchasing and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of required materials.
- Prepare and issue materials as per requisitions, ensuring proper documentation and recording.
- Perform regular stock checks, cycle counts, and physical inventories to identify discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate with project teams to identify surplus or obsolete materials and initiate proper disposal or return procedures.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, including proper material handling, storage, and preservation.
- Collaborate with other departments to support material delivery and ensure smooth operations.
- Follow safety protocols and report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to storekeeping and inventory management.
Job Requirements
- BSc's degree in Commerce or equivalent.
- Previous experience in storekeeping and inventory control.
- Knowledge of storekeeping and inventory management principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment is an advantage.
- Proficient in using inventory management software or computerized systems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining inventory records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
