Job Description
Quality Assurance:
-Implement and maintain quality control procedures and standards for seafood product manufacturing.
-Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to quality control and product safety.
-Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to quality guidelines during each stage of production.
Inspections and Testing:
-Conduct regular inspections and sampling of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products.
-Perform sensory evaluations and laboratory tests to assess product quality, taste, texture, and overall freshness when needed
-Monitor critical control points to prevent contamination and maintain product safety.
Compliance and Documentation:
-Ensure that the factory complies with all relevant food safety and regulatory standards and work on any needed Certificates (e.g., FDA, HACCP, GMP)
-Keep accurate and up-to-date records of quality control activities, test results, and any deviations from established standards.
-Prepare reports on quality performance, non-conformances, and corrective actions taken.
Corrective Actions and Continuous Improvement:
-Identify and investigate product quality issues, deviations, and customer complaints.
-Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns and prevent recurrence.
-Work with the production and R&D teams to improve product quality and processes continuously as well as developing New products.
Training and Education:
-Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures, food safety, and best practices.
-Foster a culture of quality awareness and commitment to product excellence among employees.
Supplier Quality Management:
-Collaborate with the purchasing department to assess and monitor suppliers' quality performance.
-Conduct audits and evaluations of suppliers to ensure they meet the required standards.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
-Monitor adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols in all manufacturing areas.
-Promote and enforce a clean and sanitized work environment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance, preferably in the food manufacturing industry, with a focus on seafood products.
- Knowledge of relevant food safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP, GMP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using quality control tools, software, and laboratory equipment.
- Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
