Job Summary: The role of the Explosives Safety Officer is to support the Explosives Safety Manager in the implementation of Halcon explosives safety policy through the undertaking of explosives safety audits, supervising explosives testing and responding to explosives accidents and incidents. Key Accountabilities: Carry out explosives facility safety audits in line with IATG v.3 6.7 and Halcon policy Audit explosives processes and activities in line with approved written instructions. Advise and assist in the development and production of written procedures for explosives activities. Assist the ESM in the management of explosives accidents and incidents. Advise the production and engineering staff of the explosives safety requirements and practices applicable to manufacture and assembly of explosive substances and articles. Act as range safety officer for trials, testing and disposal of explosives, explosive components and systems as required. Identify and discuss with ESM and other relevant stakeholders training gaps and identify solutions. Design, develop and deliver in house explosives related training. Report non compliances to the ESM and discuss remedial action required. Experience & Education Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years experience working in and managing explosives environment Minimum: Professional certificate in explosives management. Attention to detail Planning and organisation Communicating and influencing Problem solving Knowledge of explosives and munitions management Knowledge of explosives legislation Knowledge of explosives safety processes and procedures #HALCON
