Job Description

Main Tasks:

  • Check and record weekly transactions
  • Monitor that all transactions are in accordance with Egyptian Law and the club’s internal guidelines
  • Report discrepancies to the Club Manager and the Treasurer of the board
  • Supervise monthly cash and stock count
  • Prepare the monthly financial statements according to generally accepted accounting principles for NGO
  • Prepare the salary sheet including tax and social insurance calculation
  • Prepare checks, forms and reports for tax- and social insurance authority
  • Monitor payables and receivables
  • Prepare reports and analysis on behalf of the club manager and the treasurer of the board
  • Periodic check of integrity of serials for receipt- and payment vouchers
  • Advise the club management and the board in case of changes in the relevant laws (i.e. labor, tax, social insurance and NGO law)

Employment conditions:

The supervisory accountant is expected to work one day per week. However in the initial phase a more intensive engagment is required. Employment conditions according to Egyptian Labor Law. Employees are covered by Social Insurance, unless the employee provides proof of insurance by his/her primary employer.
Successful applicants will have to provide health certificate and police report. In case the Swiss Club is secondary employment a consent ceritificate from primary employer is required. First and second grade relatives of current employees are not eligible for the position.

Job Requirements

We are looking for the following applicants:

  • Interested to work part-time, and occasionally on weekends
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Expert knowledge in accounting and treasury principles.
  • Chartered accountant certification (Mohaseb Kanouni) or experience in a reputed accounting firm is an advantage
  • Integrity and courage to speak up when needed
  • Fluent in Arabic and English, spoken and written
  • Previous experience with accounting ERP systems, and good command of MS office applications
  • Accuracy, diligence and discreetness
