Job Description
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects from conception to completion, including planning, design, analysis, and construction oversight.
- Conduct structural analysis using advanced software tools and using of computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare structural design documents (ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Rivet) to ensure designs meet regulatory standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated design solutions for buildings, bridges, and other structures.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and reports prepared by junior engineers and drafters.
- Perform site visits and inspections to assess structural conditions, identify issues, and provide technical recommendations.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing technical guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and standards to ensure compliance and enhance engineering practices.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development to secure new projects and maintain client relationships.
- Conduct peer reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of engineering deliverables.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the structural engineering department.
- Good experience in using BIM software.
- Performing of structural analysis and design calculations complying with local and international codes and standards
- Will lead and manage complex engineering projects, provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Contribute to the innovation and growth of our structural engineering department
- Providing structural drawings for own designs
- Producing sketches to incorporate in drawings by designers and drafters
- Serving as project engineer on assigned projects
- Coordinating structural designs with other disciplines
- Attending and participating in technical meetings
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
- 8-16 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, including design, analysis, and project management.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro. and Revit.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex engineering projects.
- Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to address engineering challenges.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of structural engineering.
