Job Description
Position Summary
- The Senior Videographer/ Editor is required to shoot footage and assemble recorded footage into finished projects from start to finish including pre-production (planning, scouting, shot lists)
- Production (filming, sound, lighting) and post-production (editing, audio, finishing).
- He/ she brings sight and sound together in order to tell cohesive stories, in unique and compelling ways; both long and short-form.
- He/ She transports, sets up, and operates equipment; and assists with staging, set preparation and dressing, and works closely with the art director to execute the concept through to completion.
Main Duties:
- Take briefs to grasp client’s needs and specifications
- Create and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
- Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
- Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
- Create rough and final cuts on multiple projects on tight deadlines
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
- Transport, set up, and operate various production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production
- Operate and maintain proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio and video recorders, and other production equipment
- Collect b-roll footage
Other responsibilities:
- Help to sustain and guide creative process
- Assist in developing storyboards
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
- Determine what camera equipment is necessary and obtain equipment
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Film/ Video/ Media
- Proven work experience as a video editor/videographer (a minimum of 5 years)
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Suite - Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop)
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
- Demonstrate confidence in creative conceptualizing and shooting techniques
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced atmosphere
- Flexible, collaborative, and efficient work ethics
- Attention to detail a must at all times
