Job Description

  • The position is responsible for providing overall leadership and management in Egypt, as well as, guiding the development of the National Organization (NO) capacity and strategy to fulfill the purposes of Habitat for Humanity in this country.
  • He/she will be a dynamic leader and take a community driven approach to work towards fulfilling the organizational mission, vision, goals, targets, and impact at a national level. He/she will cultivate and maintain an organization culture that aims to exponentially grow in alleviating poverty housing in-country.

Job Requirements

  • Masters degree in a relevant field, such as international development or relations, public administration, management, civil engineering, and/or social sciences.
  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated working experience in international development; 5 of those years at a senior management level in an international organization, with HFHI experience desirable.
  • Highly experienced in delivering community development approaches, international development policy and practice with the.
  • Experience in managing large scale grants/projects and compliance to diverse donors (i.e. DFID, USAID, UN bodies, etc.).
  • A track-record of effective and exemplary leadership management of large, complex teams; budgets (USD 5 million+) and other resources required.
  • Demonstrable network of contacts and high standing in his/her position with proven track record of building partnerships with stakeholders (gov’t, corporates, donors, other NGOs/INGOs, etc.).
  • Well established and practiced project management, strategic planning and coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity and strategic thinking.
  • High-level ability to anticipate emerging needs and integrate them swiftly into priority setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and public speaking skills.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, diplomacy, and adaptability.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Familiarity with construction and appropriate technology desired, but not required.
  • Alignment with and a commitment to model and articulate Habitat for Humanity core values (Jesus Christ the foundation, integrity, unity in diversity, justice and equity, and single-mindedness).
