elmenus is a startup based in Egypt. We believe that every dining decision should be a social, visual and personalized experience to discover and order the food you will love. Currently over 2 Million dining decisions are being made on our platform every month and growing.
Some the cool things we’re building is a food recommendation engine, activity streams that can scale to millions of users and classifying our huge database of dishes into a more logical structure that can help users drill down on their favourite food. Our culture encourages challenging each others’ ideas, debating design directions and allowing best ideas to win without hierarchy.
- Our development stack includes: Nodejs, MySQL, redis, ElasticSearch, Angularjs, Android and iOS native apps.

Job Requirements
Some of the skills that will make you fit for this role:
- Experience leading a technical team using agile methodologies
- You are passionate about trying out new technologies and utilizing latest trends to deliver business objectives
- Strong experience with either PHP, Ruby or Python
- Familiarity with Node.js is a plus
- Strong experience in scaling MySQL to high volume throughput
- Experience with NoSQL databases, Redis or similar data stores
- Experience using ElasticSearch
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks and technologies is a plus
- Administration of production servers for high volume applications (specifically AWS)
- Proven leadership and initiative taking skills
- Experience translating roadmaps to innovative technical solutions
- Proven technical leadership skills through coaching and mentoring
- Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
- Assist in the collection and documentation of user requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans
- Ability to mentor and inspire your team members
- Appreciation for UX and clean interfaces
- Loving food is a plus!
