Job Description

  • Maintain good standard of secure/scalable infrastructure development and architecture.
  • Leave infrastructure code better than you found it (and fully commented).
  • A proactive attitude to problem solving and an understanding of the role of development in a creative environment.
  • Be willing to work in a research capacity – to find, test and critically review open-source technologies from a security, performance and stability perspective.
  • Contribute to the high-performance of the agile-development lifecycle by working with team members to author high-quality platforms according to assigned priorities. 

Job Requirements

Technical Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong Computer Science background.
  • Rock-solid understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g. Xen, KVM and Qemu).
  • Rock-solid understanding of web development environment components (e.g. nginx, Apache, Lighttpd, PHP, Perl, Python, MySQL).
  • MUST have a working experience with Gentoo and/or Slackware GNU/Linux.
  • MUST have a working knowledge of kernel customization and recompilation processes.
  • MUST have a working experience with RedHat/CentOS GNU/Linux.
  • Act as a lower-layers/middleware developer working hands-on over back-end technologies.
  • Have a strong knowledge with proxies, load-balancers, high-availability stacks.
  • MUST have a working experience with Puppet, Ansible, Chef.
  • Good knowledge in modern web development frameworks like Laravel, Zend, CodeIgniter, Symfony, YII.
  • Educational or work knowledge of C/C++.
  • Strong knowledge of MySQL/SQLite databases and their declarative query languages.
  • Working experience with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong understanding of web service technologies and APIs (REST, JSON, XML, RPC) and integration with external systems.
  • Working experience with versioning control (GIT).

Personal Skills:

  • Good English language command.
  • Good communication skills, soft skills and sending formal emails.
  • Ability to perform effectively to tight deadlines, work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Open, honest and direct, is comfortable in giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Have a strong belief in Open Source technologies.
  • Willingness to get challenging technology limitation tasks.
