Job Description
- Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from commercial, open source and locally developed monitoring tools and troubleshooting primarily IBM hardware and software.
- Undertake the day-to-day operation of backup systems including rotation of backup tapes.
- Support and maintain end user requirements, and perform troubleshooting and training.
- Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
- Responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for key Oracle databases and services.
- Perform standard operational DBA duties for supported environments including structural, space and performance management.
- Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of the database architecture and the general application functionality used to maintain data integrity
- Providing documentation, as required, by the Program Management.
- Providing weekly status reports.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering /equivalent.
- Very Good English
- Very good computer skills
