Mechanical/Mechatronics Design Intern @ iLab's Startups

iLab is a pre-incubation program that serves many enginnering startups. Through iLab, entrepreneurs with prototypes or just ideas team up with other enthusiatic professionals to form the right team to create their startup and take it to the next level. iLab also seeks talented and creative individuals that wish to intern with these startups. Interns can be university undergrads (from all universties) or graduates. Interns are expected to particpate in real tasks working closely with the rest of the team. iLab is a six month program that starts June 18th and ends Dec 24th, 2016. In the past, many iLab internships ended up with full employment contracts. Interns are expected to work full time in the months June-Sep and at least 2 days/week Oct-Dec. Interns will be working with their teams on TIEC's premises in Smart Village or on iHub Campus in Abbaseya.

As an Mechancial/Mechatronics Design intern, you'll assist with:

• Engineering research, design, and development of solid models, drawings, and other engineering documents using Microsoft Office software, Solid Works, Unigraphics, and Catia CAD software
• Technical guidance from Project Engineer, Supervisor, or other senior personnel, evaluate engineering data to ensure successful progress and completion of assignments.
• Coordinating project phases with designers, drafters, and technicians in order to complete assignments.Using innovation and creativity, evaluate ongoing projects, make recommendations, and direct necessary changes in the methods or processes.Research and evaluate new materials, equipment and processes.
• Developing components drawings and prototypes.
• Designing custom electronics for concept validation
• Laying out custom PCBs 
• Designing and develop complex manufacturing schematics and processes.
• Providing input on quality to product development teams; recommend improvements by facilitating process reviews, manufacturing methods, equipment tooling, and training.
• Creating mechanical design concepts for various products and clients using mechanical tools.
• Assisting with the design mechanisms improve installation and serviceability.
• Assisting with testing and execution experiments for mechanical system optimization.
• Working with the team to build and test prototypes.
• Diagnosing and making recommendation on prototypes, assembly or design failures.
