Job Description

  • Has a good understanding of the external environment and the relevant businesses current and strategic agenda and vigorously ensures that the Learning strategy is fully aligned to that.
  • Ensure the learning strategy of Core and Electives is fully implemented and executed in an effective manner. Streamline activities as much as possible to derive better results.
  • Reposition the Learning function by ensuring Learning architecture is linked more closely with the site business needs.
  • Effectively and objectively measure learning solutions together with the Solution Center specialists to enable the delivery of commercial, compliant, and business-relevant learning content cost effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Be seen as influential, credible and persuasive in terms of aligning the learning agenda with the needs of stakeholders.
  • Drive all communication within the Center with respect to curriculum and offerings of Bank Academies’.
  • Aware of the Group frameworks and offerings and able to educate the stakeholders where required.
  • Draw on the learning curriculum architecture and prioritise against business needs.
  • Work with business stakeholders & HR generalists.
  • Drive and monitor the development and delivery of all learning solutions to ensure quality and standards are maintained at all times for all target level audiences.
  • Ensure facilitation of workshops and training programmes for specific employee levels as and when required and appropriate.
  • Demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude evidenced by observation and feedback.
  • Interact with businesses to understand overarching issue and leverage ideas.
  • Effectively lead, influence and communicate functional expertise to stakeholders to pursue meaningful discussions.
  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to the team of learning specialists.
  • Take on a consulting approach; meet the stakeholders on a periodic basis to provide guidance and support.
  • Work closely with Academy Head, Solution Center Lead and Country Leads for a greater alignment and understanding of the Training Academy priorities and initiatives alongside the Solution Center offerings.
  • Effectively manage headcount and resources within budget.
  • Support a proper performance management system in place to measure performance levels of the L&D team
  • Coach, develop, motivate and mentor team members to help and support them in achieving the objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to speak and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to build rapport with people.
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to details.
  • Relevant education, or equivalent industry/functional experience
  • Computer literate and proficient with MS applications e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes
  • Knowledge and awareness of active industry leadership organizations and associations
  • Deep and wide subject matter expertise, with an exceptional ability to work across Global Functions.
  • Knowledge of the different management and leadership methodologies is a key requirement/preference
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a department or a team is essential
  • Commitment and focus to delivery against stated goals and objectives.
  • Experience of working in a matrix led environment and, accustomed to bridging the gap between disparate organizational structures and cultures.
  • Excellent influence and negotiator with good stakeholder management skills.
  • Balance of diplomacy and firmness – ability to show good judgment when escalating or dealing with escalations
