Job Description
A graphic designer is responsible for creating design solutions for websites, multimedia applications, corporate communications and corporate identity, and software application layouts.
- Interpreting the client's business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose;
- Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts;
- Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work;
- keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as InDesign, QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3ds Max, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash;
- Developing interactive design;
- Strong knowledge of HTML and Flash
- Work with Instructional Designers, Graphic Designers, Videographers, Video Editors, and Usability Experts to design and create storyboards from concept to final product.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Level of Education Required Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- At least 2 years of experience in Graphic/Multimedia design, Web Design, Development, or related field.
- Must have a background in graphic/multimedia/usability design and be proficient in the Adobe Creativity Suite (especially Photoshop and Illustrator).
- Must have experience with web-based technologies such as HTML, CSS (JavaScript a plus).
- Must have experience with video and audio for the web.
- Must have experience creating and working from storyboards.
- Experience with video production (set up, video shoots, audio and/or lighting set ups) a plus.
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Needs to work successfully with limited supervision. Must be a self-starter, a problem-solver, and be able to successfully manage multiple tasks.
- Must be flexible and be able to work with a diverse team.
Must have a professional portfolio that can be presented upon request.
