Job Description

Job purpose:

  • Responsible for the physical changes to computer databases including coding, testing, and implementation of the physical database.
  • Responsible for maintaining availability and performance of the enterprise applications and database environment.
  • Responsible for database administration, application administration, managing a ticket queue, system administration and project work.
  • nteract with internal application development, application support, and end users to solve problems and implement new solutions.

Principal Accountabilities / Key Result Areas:

  • Coordinates closely with Networking, Programming, Applications, Data Management, Administration, and users to ensure the best possible database services.
  • Supports Oracle databases, application servers, and related tools.
  • Performs installation, updates/patches, upgrades, tuning, optimization, backups and resource management.
  • Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of all Oracle databases.
  • Makes changes and/or modifications to database file definitions and schemas as directed.
  • Develops documents and maintains procedures for project plans, patch loads, data backups, restores, performance tuning, and configurations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualification:
  • BS in Electronics/Computer engineering or Computer Science.
Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in Database Administration
Core Competencies:
  • Relational database concepts.
  • SQL Programming.
  • PL/SQL or Transact-SQL programming.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work issues to successful resolution.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative fast paced environment.
  • Must possess logical and methodical problem solving skills as well as the ability to communicate and justify the resolution process where necessary.
Peripheral Competencies:
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to work under tight deadline.
  • Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
