Designing, implementing and commissioning processes and test equipment related to the product manufacture that are cost effective and within a given budget.
Evaluating manufacturing processes by observation, work sampling and throughput analysis.
Create, review and approve Standard Work Instructions
Optimize and lean out the workload to match the operator capabilities.
Develop operator aids and poka-yoke countermeasures to enhance production operator efficiency.
Minimize or eliminate non-value added operations within the production area.
Create and maintain value-stream maps to support decisions and drive improvements.
Assures product and process quality by defining test methods and drawing process capability reports.
Institute Kaizen activities to drive process performance improvements.
Pursue and support cost reduction activities to achieve company VAVE goals.
Work with product and value stream engineers to ensure technical documentation and work instruction needs are met.
Review and approve Engineering Change Notices as applicable to product line responsibilities.
Assess safety and environmental requirements, ensuring that these are always integrated into new or revised processes.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Excellent communication and organisation skills.
Good interpersonal and training skills.
Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures, six sigma manufacturing quality and CAD.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to proactively identify and hands-on resolve manufacturing engineering related issues.
Ability to work independently, resolve process issues without detailed direction.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection principles.
