Cost Accountant

JOB SUMMARY:

• This position is responsible for creation, maintenance, and analysis of standard product costs, inventory valuation, purchase price variance, and associated reporting. Position will perform month end close duties related to manufacturing processes. Ensure cost accounting information is reliable and inventory, production usage and yield variance and cost of goods sold transactions are valued appropriately and product cost information is reliable and available. Assist manufacturing and operations management in understanding the cost drivers of manufactured products to enable implementation of cost reduction strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze and update labor and overhead standard costs for assigned facilities
• Prepare monthly cost roll process and daily calculation and entry of cost for new itemsPrepare product 
• cost information for new and existing products for pricing review
• Ensure integrity of product cost and cost accounting information, analyze accuracy of overhead rates and prepare monthly analysis for assigned facilities
• Record monthly labor and overhead absorption. Prepare and record monthly inventory reserve journal entries and prepare monthly analysis regarding inventory reserves, distressed inventories and waste / loss Audit physical inventory at assigned locations and prepare physical inventory valuations and reconciliations
• Manufacturing, inventory management and variance reporting and analysis
• Fixed asset and capital reporting.
