Job Description
- The Database Developer’s role is to design, develop, and maintain database systems and software in support of various applications.
- This individual is also responsible for the daily database operations and management of the system resources to assure high levels of data availability.
- As a Database Developer, this role is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Develop T-SQL scripts, Develop ETL processes (MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) preferred). Design, develop, and provide support for inbound and outbound data feeds.
- Design and develop reports in using MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) .
- Collaborate with developers, project managers and business analysts in conceptualizing and developing new software applications and enhancements.
- Support and assist in on-going maintenance of production databases and new databases to ensure performance with minimal downtime.
- Document and share knowledge gain with the development team.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide optimal solutions.
- Communicate problems and resolutions to Project Management.
- Implement database changes and application changes as needed.
- Maintain database standards and ensure that database standards are followed
- All qualified candidates must possess the following core qualifications
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- 2+ years of experience with database design, development, support, and administration.
- 2+ years of experience using Microsoft SQL tools and technologies.
- 2+ years of experience with SSRS and SSIS.
- Must possess strong knowledge of SQL Server 2008.
- Must be familiar with TFS and Visual Studio Database projects.
- Experience with SQL Server performance tuning, execution plans, and indexing. Flexible and adaptable in regards of learning new technologies.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) and organization skills
- Preferred Skills – nice to have but not required
- Experience managing backup and restore SharePoint databases.
- Experience running SQL on VM. Web administration and/or programming experience is a plus.
- Design and develop Data Warehouses and Data Marts.
- Experience with database replication and synchronization.
- Experience with Crystal Reports. Experience with SalesForce integration is a plus.
