Job Description
- Supervise the servicing and/or repair of customer’s vehicles within the trade discipline(s) assigned.
- Liaise with Receptionists to predict type and volume of future workload and understand particular needs of customers, advise Receptionists of any problems with the work on customers’ vehicles (control of non conforming product - disposition of nonconforming product - corrective and preventive actions)
- Report on performance of assigned team, individuals, facilities, equipment, tools and systems to Workshop Supervisor “Write weekly figures and reports”
- Inspect and carry out inspection and tests for compliance with specified standards on service or repair work and customers vehicles (in-process inspection and customer supplied product) e.g. inspection may reveal that customer’s vehicle does not comply with national standards for road worth.
- Report, record and return any incorrect or defective parts to Parts Group’s Stores and external suppliers (nonconforming product - disposition of)
- Advise Service Garage Manager of Warranty Work encountered, advise Job Controller and Receptionist of additional work encountered
- Follow the warranty instruction supplied by warranty manager.
- Inspect work returned from Quality Controller, investigate causes and consult with worker to ensure curative actions, carry out on the job or specialist training, check equipment, tools or processes as necessary (corrective and preventive action) and record actions taken on Job Card
- Apply the Group’s standard for housekeeping, personal safety and appearance to self and subordinates
- Hold weekly meetings; discuss task delegation and review issues.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & Requirements
Education : B sc. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience: 1 to 3 years in service operation in a reputable dealership of which 1 year should be in a supervisory capacity
Language : Good written and spoken English
Computer : Ability to use Microsoft Office to include Microsoft Word, Excel and email and Ability to use of computer
databases
Education : B sc. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
