Internship Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and carry out research in accordance with the project aims, in collaboration with ARL and the project’s industry partners.
- Participate in advanced research in the fields of mechatronics for automotive, machine learning, machine vision, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
- Travel to meet our research partners when necessary. Travel periods can range from one week to several months
- Contribute to the writing of research reports, progress reports, and any other reporting obligations to the granting agencies and the other partners.
- Disseminate the results via journals, conference presentations, and project meetings.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all findings.
- Collaborate with and support the provision of high quality research guidance to ASU students at all levels.
- Support the computing, hardware and networking needs of the project.
- Observe and comply with all university policies and regulations, including the key policies and procedures on Confidentiality, Conflict of Interest, Data Protection, Equal Opportunities, Financial Regulations, Health and Safety.

Applicant Qualifications
- A Bachelors of Science (or equivalent) in Electronics or Computer Engineering.
- Excellent understanding of Computer Architecture, Digital IC Design Flow, Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning.
- Excellent mathematical skills, in particular probability and statistics.
- Passion for research and an interest to have your research working on a real car is absolutely essential.
- Excellent programming skills in C/C++/Matlab.
- Practical Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to other researchers, and students in an academic context, to learn and teach new skills.
- Ability to present own work at conferences and seminars with authority and coherence.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to write technical reports clearly and succinctly for publication in English.
- Ability to organize own work paying close attention to detail under minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize own work and perform effectively under pressure and time constraints in response to deadlines.
- (Desirable) Prior research experience in your field of interest.
